Job Description

To set up and configure desktops, laptops, Hard-Phones and Soft-phones for African Bank according to IT standards, policies and user specifications

Provide 3rd Level Support to various IT departments and users on Computer Equipment where needed.

Installing and configure all Applications and Software as per African Bank standards and policies

Diagnose of desktop problems quickly and efficiently

Assisting the Service Desk with 1st and 2nd line support.

Supply knowledge transfer to helpdesk where applicable

  • Grade 12,
  • Certificate in A+ and N+
  • Windows 10 Certified

  • Grade 12
  • Certificate in A+, N+
  • MSCA 2012 / 2016
  • Certification in 3RD Party Applications

  • 2 year working experience in Desktop Support and Telephony System Support

  • 3 years working experience as a Desktop Support / Desktop Technician and Telephony System.

  • Knowledge and understanding of :
  • Desktop Hardware and Peripherals
  • Desktop Operating systems (Windows7, Windows 10, MacOS)
  • Desktop Applications e.g. Microsoft Office Products,
  • e-mail applications, Microsoft Projects, Visio, Antivirus e.g. McAfee.
  • Mobile devices (Android and Apple) Technical Skills
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication Skills (listen, verbal & written)

  • Experience in deployment Desktop Application software i.e.CA, Manage Engine, SCCM.
  • Knowledge in scripting languages e.g. DOS, DMS, IPS, KIX, VBS
  • Fundamental Competencies

  • Strong Technical ability

    Maintenance - Endpoint Devices

  • Administrative tasks of Endpoint - Hardware and Operating System
  • Image build, re-image, setup, install, configure and maintain of OS to approved specifications.
  • Endpoint Maintenance - Software and Applications

  • Attend to all required installations, configuration of current applications, maintenance, fixing and metering of all required software to approved specifications.
  • Print Management Tools and Clients
  • Ensured that print requirements are met to fulfil Print Managed Solution requirements.
  • Assist with the rollout of Desktops in conjunction with the necessary Vendors
  • Ensure timelines are met with PC replacements
  • Perform frequent stock take functions to ensure all stock is accounted for
  • Report any discrepancies to the direct manager
  • Desktop Support and AD Hoc Projects

  • Provide 2nd to 3rd Level Support to various IT departments and users

  • Endpoint Security Maintenance
  • Attend to all upgrades and fixing of McAfee Client (incl. Encryption), ensure patches are installed and up to date.
