As Retailer Engagement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to maximize Retailer Interaction, understand data analysis and build strong relationships with our clients all in order to continuously improve quality of our deliverables.

This role will enable you to continuously improve how data is received and delivered by optimizing data input, improving data quality, and ensuring on-time output.

Principal Duties and responsibilities :

The Retailer Engagement Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Drive Retailer Quality KPIs and build supplier (retailer) improvement processes and technology solutions that can be leveraged globally.

Must be a team player working closely with Nielsen internal stakeholders (where applicable) to establish an interaction process with retailers.

Responsible for retention and penetration activities of existing retailers and improvement of the quality of the data received from the retailer, including :

Providing Training

Maintaining plans with strategy for each retailer

New Retailer On-Boarding

Preparing the Retailer Interaction Monthly Report

Identify best practices used by the top Retailers and leverage on these to improve the Retailers that are not doing well.

Also suggest Best Practices to regional and / or global leader for further cross-regional leverage. When appropriate, make recommendations for enhancements to internal Nielsen Operations processes.

Complete special projects assigned to the region in regards to retailer interaction, as well as reporting the results across the region and being accountable for the results and meeting the targets as agreed with the team leader.

Communicate with retailer IT departments (at all levels) on an ongoing basis regarding input-data quality and future retailer input-

data changes. Conduct all data investigations where the issue is traced back to retailer input and work with retailer and Nielsen Operations to correct input errors.

Leverage Retail Service relationships with retailers to utilize their expertise and retailer contacts. View retailer as a client AND supplier.

Review retailer cooperation agreements to identify compliance / non-compliance with the data and information provided to Nielsen.

Develop / implement a plan to correct non-compliant situations that allows for a timely resolution.

The role may require working with multiple client data concurrently and will also include being responsible for managing the data investigation.

  • The responsibilities are to work with a client to get the data in the correct format, understanding the data from a business point of view;
  • manage, escalate and resolve data issues directly with retailer contact.

    Functional Skills :

    Maintain an accurate and up-to-date knowledge on research techniques and applications

    Integrate multiple data sources to answer business issues.

    Perform quality checks on all reports for alignment to request, accuracy and correctness.

    Ensure standard operating procedures within area of responsibility are observed.

    Recommend improvements in work processes within area of responsibility.

    Technical Skills :

    Minimum 2-3 years of experience using SQL or other query and scripting languages to aggregate, gather, and manipulate data.

    Possess understanding of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft etc), ETL tools, data conversion and data cleansing methodologies.

    Advanced Microsoft Access and Excel experience.

    An analytical, result driven individual with high attention to detail.

    Have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

    Typical Position Pre-requisites :

    Understanding of the FMCG industry : As the clients are FMCG retailers, a good understanding and exposure to an FMCG environment and or / retail is required.

  • Good at analytical skill and presentation skills;
  • Good knowledge of Statistical and Microsoft Office applications

  • Bachelor Degree (preferably Information Technology) and / or Certifications in Database Management System in Oracle or Microsoft ;

  • Team and client oriented with good communication skills to liaise with retailers questions;
  • Able to work under pressure of deadlines;
  • Analytical mindset & attention to details, good listener;
  • Strong project management skills;
