Job Description

An experienced Technical Specialist / System Administrator is required to provide technical skills and support in a hosting environment.

The incumbent will be required to perform back-end System, Server & Networking support across a range of technologies & disciplines as well as to perform direct end user Desktop support in Windows environments.

The job will suit a Technical Specialist with skills in system support, user support and (preferably) experience in a datacentre environment.

Strong troubleshooting skills are required with a focus on customer service.

    Windows Server administration, configuration & support including :

  • In depth Active Directory Group Policy Configuration & Management.
  • In depth DNS, DHCP Configuration & Management.
  • In depth backup knowledge & skills.
  • Patching & Update Management.
  • Networking implementation, administration and support including :

  • In depth networking configuration & support.
  • In depth Firewall configuration & support.
  • VMware Server configuration & support including :

  • Experience of installation & configuration (vSphere & vCenter).
  • Experience in day to day management of a vCenter environment (provisioning, maintenance & support of Guest machines).
  • Infrastructure implementation & Hardware Management including :

  • Working knowledge of Server Infrastructure (HP Blades preferable not essential).
  • Working knowledge of Storage Technologies (HP EVA & 3 Par preferable not essential).
  • Working knowledge of Networking Equipment (HP Switches preferable not essential).
  • Working knowledge of Wireless Equipment.
  • User Support including :

  • Attending to user support calls (remote and on-site).
  • Installing & Support of Windows Professional Editions.
  • Patching & Update Management.
  • General Application Support (typically Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Advantageous Experience / Knowledge

  • Technical Documentation skills.
  • Compliance & Information security related skills.
  • System Monitoring.
  • Exchange Server configuration & support.
  • SQL Server configuration & support.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Redgate SQL Backup.
  • Arcserve Backup.
  • Mikrotik Firewall Configuration & Support.
