Responsibilities :

  • Install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile / smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
  • Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
  • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines
  • Create, maintain, and distribute reports of progress to senior leadership
  • Maintain IT databases with up to date solutions and clear record of activities
  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to users
  • Use in house IT ticket system to resolve all IT items raised.
  • Co-ordinates with procurement and vendors to ensure IT procurement schedules and cost objectives are met.
  • Identify scope changes during a given task cycle with the ability to measure its impact upon current tasks
  • Maintain task status communication with management
  • Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the capabilities of IT equipment
  • Resolves user service issues associated with the equipment
  • Requirements

    Matric plus Degree / Diploma in Information Technologyy

  • Proficient in Microsoft XP, Windows 10,
  • Working knowledge of Server 2012, MS SQL
  • TCP / IP networking experience
  • Exposure to AutoCAD and related software an advantage
  • Min 2, preferably 5years' experience.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision; close attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications
  • Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
  • Overtime as required
  • Own transport required
