The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Organising and coordinating, in conjunction with the Area Manager and Stock and Logistics Manager, cost-effective product deliveries to depots and / or customers.
  • Managing depot stock received and delivery of stock.
  • Ensuring that receipt and dispatch of stock are accompanied by the necessary supporting documentation.
  • Managing and following up regarding incorrect deliveries and damaged goods.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the company's stock management policy.
  • Performing weekly and monthly stock take of company and consignment stock and as per instruction from the Area Manager and Stock and Logistics Manager.
  • Investigating stock variances and reporting issues to Area Manager and Stock and Logistics Manager.
  • Managing and handling telephonic enquiries regarding orders and stock.
  • Following up on orders from suppliers and giving feedback to relevant parties.
  • Confirming availability of products immediately when orders are placed.
  • Vehicle Scheduling Activities

  • Booking transport vehicles to deliver stock according to cost effective parameters i.e. full truck loads, urgency, etc.
  • Ensuring that the driver complete the required inspection checklists and ensuring that the necessary vehicle maintenance is performed.
  • Implementing a vehicle maintenance schedule and ensuring the implementation thereof.
  • Ensuring that forklifts and trucks are roadworthy.
  • Ensuring logbooks are completed and filled in correctly.
  • Personnel Management

  • Managing, reducing and documenting overtime.
  • Ensuring accurate time management of Storeman and Driver.
  • Customer Service

  • Assisting with general enquiries regarding stock.
  • Communicating general stock information per SMS or email to relevant people.
  • Providing written and verbal feedback to management and Crop Solution Specialists regarding product delivery, shortages, overages, delays, etc.
  • Tenders

  • Placing tender orders from depots on the system and booking out against relevant tender code.
  • Equilibrium

  • Keeping records up to date on Equilibrium for depots and clients.
  • Ensuring immediate entering of all depot sales on the Equilibrium system.
  • Administration

  • Ensuring proper filing of all documentation with a quick ability to retrieve.
  • Following up on all "Auto-Documentation" and reconciling delivery notes with invoices.
  • Following up on credit notes to match supplier returns.
  • Health and Safety

  • Being familiar with firefighting legislation and procedures as well as evacuation procedures in case of emergency.
  • Implementing the company policy regarding handling of chemicals.
  • Salary package highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
