  • Shareholder Reporting - prepare monthly packs & reports, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, interim and year end packs and annual financial statements for the Group and Subsidiaries.
  • Implement, maintain and review accounting systems on SAP and Essbase that are effective, reliable and efficient to support such monthly reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing proofs of all balance sheet balances, cash flow statement balances and the consolidation spreadsheet entries when the monthly, interim and year end packs are prepared.
  • Adherence to AVI monthly reporting requirements ensuring that monthly deadlines, from both a business unit and an AVI perspective, are met and that the desired level of accuracy is achieved.
  • Performing and reviewing debtors provisions, unrealized profit, FEC revaluation, lease accounting, impairment assessment and borrowing costs capitalised calculations.
  • Apply financial accounting standards across the Group, researching and advising Group entities on the impact of latest IFRS developments.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding all internal control matters, as well as the year-end audit.
  • Ensuring that the Group apply all Group accounting policies and comply with IFRS.
  • Review and release payments on an electronic banking system (Standard Bank CATS).
  • Addressing ad hoc queries from business units, AVI Head Office and other parties.
  • Management of and providing strategic and operational direction to the Group’s Treasury function and IT and FSS Shared Service accounting functions.
  • Timeous completion of ad hoc financial and operational projects.
  • Experience and Qualifications required :

  • Minimum 2 years post article experience in a financial manager role
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting standards i.e. IFRS and Companies Act
  • Knowledge of corporate taxation (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE)
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook); SAP; and Hyperion (Essbase) experience - advantageous
  • CA (SA) with Big 4 articles (Preferably 1st time passes on Board Exams)
