The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government seeks to employ a Structural Chief Engineer to perform and manage all aspects of varied innovative and complex engineering activities that result in progress in technology and engineering applications and provide strategic direction in the process.
This position is stationed in Cape Town.
Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer; A valid driving licence.

Key Performance Areas
Co-ordinate design efforts and integration across disciplines to ensure seamless integration with current technology; Pioneering of new engineering services and management methods.
Monitor maintenance efficiencies according to organizational goals to direct or redirect engineering services for the attainment of organizational objectives.
Continuously monitor the exchange and protection of information between operations and individuals to ensure effective knowledge management according to departmental objectives.
Allocate, control and monitor expenditure according to budget to ensure efficient cash flow management.
Manage subordinates’ key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and taking actions to correct deviations to achieve departmental objectives.
People Management, Planning and organising.
Conflict management, Negotiation and Change Management skills.
All-inclusive salary package of R 991,281 per annum (as per OSD prescripts).

Note on remuneration : Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-
