BACKGROUND : The Sourcing Strategy Planner role is considered a challenging role for a senior, skilled and ambitious Supply Chain professional.
As the WL1 custodian of the category’s Africa supply chain strategy, the role requires exceptional communication skills, good financial acumen and strong category supply chain knowledge.
It is considered one of the most senior WL1 roles in the African Business because of this . MAIN JOB PURPOSE :
Complete Sourcing Studies Comparisons of the landed costs of multiple sourcing sites for a particular African MSO customer.
This includes a consideration of formulation and capital outlay, should it be necessary. Once complete, sign off the recommendations with the relevant MSO.
Perform sourcing network design optimization (sourcing studies), analyze and develop sourcing proposals with RCPD for sign off with MSO’s and Global team.
Execute (and input into) sourcing strategy as determined by the Category SC team. WL1 owner of sourcing strategies for the product group.
Brownfields Capacity Expansion : Owns the construction of the charter and contract business cases for brownfields capital expenditure proposals (Working with UENs, SC FIN, SU, PGD Technology and MSO for inputs)
Greenfields Capacity Expansion : Maintains and manages the overall project network for the installation of new supply chain infrastructure (Working with UENs, SC FIN, SU, PGD Technology and MSO for inputs)
Drives planning process improvements and optimization of SC cost
Review SLAs / contracts between UAPL and MSO, UAPL and SU and UAPL and LSE (for full scope countries)
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :
Relevant degree, Supply chain (APICS / CPIM) qualification advantage
Fully operational in Plan and Deliver processes
High level of supply chain financial numeracy is a major asset
Fully Operational Project Management Skills
Understand Make’ and Source’ processes for the relevant Product Group Category
Computer Literacy especially MS Office and Project
Use of appropriate interpersonal styles and methods -
Procurement negotiation skills
