The research manager role transcends across the DStv-i account for all services with responsibility for research design, IAD analysis, reporting requirements and key contact for client data queries.

The RPD team is a small team of friendly professionals whose role is to support the UK hosted RPD Services. Currently there are nine services under management with clients in Africa, India, Germany, New Zealand and Canada.

You will be working with multiple teams to deliver the data on a daily basis; these will include other sub-teams in the RPD team, program developers in the SA and UK, Global research and other experts in TV Measurement.

  • Handles complex client enquiries regarding audience data and confidently and effectively explains more complex matters to clients
  • Is recognised by clients as an expert in an area of data and media
  • Have a deep understanding of the client business, industry, strategy and business issues
  • Be involved in, contribute to and provide value and insight in discussions around complex or difficult solutions / project design
  • Accountable for final questionnaire design, flow and wording
  • Take responsibility for the data and research quality (and quality delivery) of a project (including all documents such as questionnaires and instructions)
  • Suggest analysis and insights based on strategic issues for the client and market
  • Compile and review reports / presentations and add value based on deeper client knowledge
  • IAD data analysis and data validation
  • IAD client and internal staff training
  • Improvements and enhancements to IAD
  • Weighting and universe reviews and sign off
  • Annual update survey and analysis and implementation
  • Quality of diary data and input into the PIV algorithm for continuous improvement and enhancement
  • Management and growth of direct reports
  • Tertiary education, a degree (BCom, Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent)
  • Must have at least 5 years’ working experience in a similar role
  • Experience in IAD, Telmar, Arianna or Techedge is preferable
  • Media and specifically audience measurement experience and knowledge is preferable
  • Must be deadline-driven and quality obsessed
  • Highly analytical and ablel to work with big and complex data sets
  • Ability to manage and motivate people within a team
