Sector : Engineering.
Summary : This position will be responsible for the design, costing and construction management schedule, budget, quality and performance.
Qualifications required :
Degree in a civil engineering;
A post-graduate degree would be an added advantage.
Experienced required :
Minimum of 10 years civil engineering experience in the design and construction of civil (roads) Infrastructure;
Minimum of 5 years management experience.
Skills required :
Thorough knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) building codes and other applicable codes;
Knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) for civil infrastructure;
Good understanding of South African construction industry legislation;
Thorough understanding of South African government legislation (PPPFA, PFMA, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Management Act, Construction Industry Board Act and regulations, National Water Act, Minerals & Petroleum Resources Development Act amongst others);
Good understanding of public sector supply chain management legislation and the implementation thereof;
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the System Engineering process;
Excellent problem solving and analytic skills;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Strong leadership and management skills;
Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary project management team and engineering consultants involved in the design and delivery of large-
scale infrastructure projects;
Proven experience in Project Processes (i.e. System Engineering; configuration management; logistical support; Supply Chain Management);
Project and contracting management experience in the public sector.
