A well-known and established International company specialising in the manufacturing of specialised food ingredients requires the above to oversee all manufacturing in the plant as well as manage production, engineering, product quality, GMP’s, food safety and conversion costs for the site.

Minimum requirements for the role :

  • Tertiary qualification in either engineering or operations or supply chain is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous factory or operations management or related experience having worked within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Must have a good background in supply chain.
  • Previous experience having worked within financial capex projects is preferred but not essential.
  • Must understand continuous improvements within the factory with a good understanding of Six Sigma, Kaizen or other lean manufacturing processes.
  • Must understand equipment capabilities and unpack data.
  • Must understand costing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and commercial know-how to be able to lead from the front.
  • Good business acumen is essential.
  • Must understand SAP or related spreadsheets.
  • Must have an understanding of HACCP and ISO 22000.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Coordinating and managing all daily factory manufacturing activities within the area.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies in accordance with GMPs, SAP requirements, etc.
  • Authorising revenue spend and capital spend as required to optimise operational performance and cost base.
  • Facilitating the identification, assessment, monitoring and delivery of projects to deliver maximum return to the Division’s commercial performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining a formal GMP programme including training for all food handlers.
  • Maintaining an up to date and auditable HACCP programme including training for all food handlers.
  • Ensuring that annual goals and objectives for all levels are deployed and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Providing periodic coaching to all levels of staff as required.
  • Ensuring that the factory is in full compliance with all legislative regulations.
  • Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
