Position Purpose :

The Business Unit Manager Agriculture - will be responsible for the overall service delivery, customer support and relationship management of CHEP’s Agric customers.

They will be required to ensure service level KPI’s are met and revenue generation from these customers is sustained and grows in accordance with the budget requirements.

The Business Unit Manager will engage with customers across various functions and multiple levels within the organisation.

The Business Unit Manager will be required to manage a team of business managers and representatives in order to carry out their relevant responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Responsible for the overall management of service levels and service delivery in accordance with the customer contracts and Agreements for CHEP’s Retail customers to including :
  • Managing the scope of services provided to each customer.
  • Presentation of national account KPI’s.
  • Account development and business improvements to sustain the delivery of value to customers.
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the required processes and procedures to track and manage customer service levels.
  • Responsible for the management of positive customer relationships with CHEP’s Retail customers.
  • Responsible for the development of existing Retail accounts to ensure the sustained delivery budgeted revenue and profitability generation from CHEP’s Retail customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining DSO at the budgeted levels for CHEP’s Retail customers.
  • Responsible for the management of a team of business managers and representatives who are the owners of the individual Retail customer accounts.
  • Value added services VCA’s, TEMS, RFID, EDI, Portfolio, Supply Chain Solutions
  • Required Qualifications & Experience :

  • A degree from any functional discipline is essential, but a business degree would be preferred
  • 5 to 6 years general work experience
  • 3 to 4 years in a customer service, supply chain or account management role
  • 1 to 2 years experience with managing direct reports
  • Sales skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong process / work systems skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Data analysis skills
  • Persons who have commercial acumen, focused leadership, achievement drive, initiative and who are persuasive, persistent and goal orientated will be most effective in this position.
