Position Description :

The Project Manager will play an integral role in overseeing delivery of project activity associated with key HR projects.

This role reports to the Senior Manager : HR Strategy Office in the TFG Human Resources Division.

The role is a blend of knowledge of HR process, strategy management and project management.

HR Strategy

  • Provide input on the progress, risks and issues of individual projects into the HR projects portfolio to assist with decision-making
  • Support communication approach of HR Strategy in TFG
  • Manage process of tracking progress of key metrics aligned to HR Strategy to support decision-making
  • Business Case Development

  • Support leaders and project teams with business case development
  • Support the measurement of business results aligned to business case
  • Project Management

  • Responsible for the project management of key HR change projects (manage projects according to cost, quality, time)
  • Development and education of HR Project Management approach
  • Consult and advise HR leaders on projects they lead themselves
  • Work closely with the divisional HR teams and key business stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of key projects and handover to business as usual’
  • Conduct post implementation review and provide recommendations
  • Where applicable, support projects by process mapping key activities aligned to proposed solution

  • Bachelor of Business Science, or Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) or equivalent qualification
  • 8-10 years working experience
  • A background in project management with experience in leading projects (or participating in larger scale projects), as an internal or external consultant
  • Understanding of HR practice and processes
  • Project Management course
  • Desirable

  • Experience with business process mapping
  • Change Management course (Prosci)
  • Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
