    An Area Manager leads a team of store managers to execute and implement field strategies that directly contribute to the success of Totalsports.

    This position requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with strong people management skills and the ability to lead and manage stores and store staff across the Area.

    The successful applicant must be comfortable with operating independently and with working in a fast paced environment that is results-

    oriented and where performance is tied to turnover goals.

    Your key responsibilities among others will include :

  • Driving turnover
  • Controlling expenses
  • Controlling stock losses
  • Managing and motivating staff
  • Development of staff
  • Effective stock management
  • Management of IR issues
  • Driving new business i.e. Rewards and New Accounts
  • Positively influencing basket size
  • Implementation of Visual Merchandising Principles
  • Brand aligned recruitment practices
  • Ensuring profitability
  • The ideal person for this position should preferably have :

  • Aware of issues facing retail in the area
  • Figure and administration orientated
  • Organised and thorough
  • Good people and business manager
  • Profit driven and an effective cost containment manager
  • An independent operator, able to make quick decisions
  • Experienced at a management level
  • Independent Operator
  • Be innovative
  • Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act and in line with TFG’s Employment Equity Policy.
