  • IT Support Professionals Job Section : Africa TechnologyReference : 90197666 Build a career as a Data Centre Operator (Level 2) Your job Purpose : Responsible for the monitoring and operational support of the organization’s systems under the control of Barclays Africa’s Command Centre;
  • including incident handling, availability and performance monitoring, conduct problem resolution and administration within the IT Command Centre according to company procedures and standards.

    Responsibilities include :

  • Ensuring availability of servers to meet business requirements
  • Performing maintenance, upgrades, replacements in the server environment
  • Monitoring server environment performance and utilization, and recommend actions for improvement
  • Progress installation, de-installation, cabling change requests
  • Configures the infrastructure environment as required by the service being implemented
  • Provide back-up for their Team Leader and / or Head of GDC Support at meetings when appropriate
  • Knowledge and use of the change / configuration management system Service Now
  • Is capable of doing X86 / Intel based hardware support
  • Will perform standby when required on hardware calls
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with server systems
  • Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability servers
  • Essential / Basic Qualifications

    Requirements :

  • National Diploma / Higher Certificate (ITIL Service Management) (NQF level no. 5)
  • 5 years technical experience in an IT Command Centre
  • Knowledge of advanced Server administration and monitoring tools
  • Minimum 4 years’ Server Management experience
  • IT Service Management Experience would be an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ Financial Services Industry experience
  • No criminal record
