If so we now offer a new position as Business Development Specialist to further grow our business within Consumer Retail Services in South Africa.

Our new Business Development Specialist will work out of our Johannesburg office and will have a dual reporting line to a European Manager and to our local Country Manager.

The assignment :

Under general direction, the Business Development Specialist coordinates with UL’s larger customers within the Consumer Retail Services Division.

Assists in carrying out pre-determined strategies with industry leads to generate revenue growth and achieve booking goals.

Builds and maintains strong client relationships and participates in customer meetings to ensure customer satisfaction. Promotes the organizations capabilities to clients, and identifies target opportunities to be forwarded to account managers in order to drive a foundation of industry growth for UL.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to management on potential business needs leads, and follows-up on existing customers, in order to help develop product sales.
  • Responds effectively to urgent and sensitive customer issues, and focuses on sustaining customer satisfaction and loyalty by maintaining a relationship with the customer.
  • Develops and masters researching techniques to identify prospective customers, and to identify the decision makers in the prospective organizations.
  • Develops and manages relationships with assigned prospects and customers, and works with the sales staff to assess account potential.
  • Assists in up-selling opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Qualifications

  • University Degree (equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Engineering, or a related disciplines plus generally five years of relevant experience in handing business development or sales activity.
  • Knowledgeable in new product development and portfolio management concepts.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of services offered by UL.
  • Demonstrated ability on how to develop a business.
  • Must possess excellent management, as well as organizational skills
  • Possess the ability to cope with stress and effectively prioritize tasks
  • Must possess effective communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-motivated
  • Fluent English
