Mercedes-Benz South Africa is looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for MBSA Vehicle Accounting, Inventory Recons for SWT function in compliance to the Company's Integrity Code & to inform superior about deviations.
Month end Vehicles - Manage the vehicle closing process. Calculate and Prepare Closing Entries in respect of Revenue Recognition Cut-
off Journal. Upload once authorised. Review all Vehicle Stock Recons prepared by MBGSP for accuracy and completeness. Review all vehicle related journals prepared by MBGSP relating to inbound provisions and Stock in Transit Accounts for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure stock MIF submission data is compiled and submitted to MBGSP (Inventory & Elimination Data for Vehicles).
Post-Closing. Vehicles ongoing reconciliation of selected inbound, stock in transit and suspense general ledger accounts.
Analyse all open items by age and ensure all necessary adjustments are communicated to MBGSP via e-ticket for action. Regular liaison with Supply Chain, Controlling, APDP and AP is required to resolve issues.
Interface Management - Vehicles, liaise with MBGSP, IT & Controlling to ensure the daily interfaces from EL & Daimler & SWT in respect of vehicle purchases are processed.
Vehicle Inventory Management - Responsible for annual company car stock and new car stock count and reconciliation. Ensure monthly reconciliation of Used & Co Cars between SAP & VMACS.
Monitor all vehicles older than 12 months in stock in order to ensure accurate accounting. Coordination with KPMG & East London
Ensure no material KPMG audit & Corporate Audit findings and assist in remediation activities.
ICS controls - Responsible for the performance, maintenance and reporting of selected controls. All processes documented per Sarbanes Oxley and ISO TS 16949 standards.
Continuous improvement and upgrading of all processes, work standards and solutions. Control execution done and loaded on RCTS as per deadlines.
Any deviations noted and remediated.
Contract Management - Review all non-standard sales & purchasing contracts in terms of the DAG Policy, ensuring all Accounting / Tax treatment is catered for and that the relevant systems and process are in place within Group Accounts to manage the entries within our books.
Notify and advise the relevant colleagues of the correct Accounting treatment that has to be followed. Periodically liaise with Business / Legal in order to ensure that the process is being followed, (refer RCTS RE-
020-015 & EX-020-00080, EX-020-00085, EX-020-00090, EX-020-00095 for more guidance & Sales Contract Policy C137 30).
Ad-hoc Support on any additional accounting functions are require.

3-5 years’ experience in the accounting environment (automotive industry an advantage), background in stock management.
