In anticipation of rigs being activated in our Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions, Ensco is recruiting externally for Subsea Engineers.

Vacancies for these roles may not be immediate and are contingent upon rigs being reactivated. Successful candidates must be willing to work anywhere in these regions.

Job Summary Responsible for the performance of all marine related subsea and surface well control, and associated equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own safety as well as that of the crew
  • Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all subsea equipment including but not limited to : BOP Stack and associated components of MUX control system, BOP handling equipment (BOP Crane, Transporter, Bulkhead Guides, Sea Fasteners, X-
  • MAS Tree Cart and mini carts), Subsea High Pressure Unit, BOP Fluid Mixing System, and associated accumulators, BOP Test Stump, Crown Mounted Compensator, Active Heave Compensator, Marine Drilling Riser, Riser hydraulic handling equipment (Riser Yoke, Riser Trolley, etc.

    Marine Riser Tensioners and associated equipment, HP Compressors and Standby APV's, Diverter, Diverter Control System and Diverter System Valves, Choke and Kill Manifold and associated control system, Moonpool maintenance baskets, MUX and Hotline Reels, Moonpool drape hoses

  • Coordinate all maintenance with management to ensure minimum impact on operations
  • Responsible for the Marine Riser and keeps accurate record of seal inspections on the Riser Master List
  • Make space out calculation and prepares riser running sheet for each riser run
  • Monitor slip joint bearing and tensioner ring during heading changes
  • Document equipment historical data for the purpose of reliability analysis and planning necessary upgrades
  • Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information
  • Perform periodic inventory of spare parts for all Subsea systems to ensure minimal downtime advising the Senior Subsea of any low stock levels
  • Maintain weekly maintenance system entries to document work including Preventive and corrective actions
  • Perform Subsea department daily checks filling out the checklist for submission to the Senior Subsea
  • Participate in weekly STOP tour with Subsea Department Personnel selecting a different area each week
  • Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping in work area
  • Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information including Riser Ton Miles
  • Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) yeas offshore
  • Two (2) years working in Subsea department with prior offshore experience preferred
  • Completion of Subsea Training Program preferred
  • Education, Training, Licenses and / or Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet all the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations.
  • Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines.

    Minimum Requirements for this position

  • Demonstrates understanding and is proactive regarding STOP program objectives
  • Encourage awareness and actively participate in STOP program
  • Must have the ability to initiate and promote Stop Work Authority
  • Must be willing to notify direct supervisor of any unsafe acts, safety violations or potential safety violations
  • Compliance with Ensco training, certification and competence requirements
  • Physically capable of performing Emergency Response team Duties as per MODU Station Bill
  • Minimum Requirements for all Ensco positions

  • Available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as determined necessary to meet business needs
  • PC proficiency required - competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or greater
