Job Description

Documenting user requirements, producing business cases, and functional requirements specifications.To provide high-quality, innovative solutions to business problems based on a strong partnership between users, management and IT.

Conduct JAD sessions, co-ordinate with business and developers.Perform Testing.Manage and test production bugs and fixes

Minimum Education

  • Tertiary QUALIFICATION PREFER ,Certificate program in business analysis
  • Minimum Experience

  • 1 year working experience in writing functional specifications

    Maintenance of the quality of all functional specifications

  • Participate in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions to give input and provide feedback on specifications
  • Review specifications and provide advice on completeness and accuracy and correct where necessary
  • Check that all relevant parties have signed, understand and agree to the requirements and specifications
  • Coordinate spec handovers to development managers / IT Testers

  • Arrange specification handover meetings between Business Analysts, Development Managers, Developers and IT Testers to ensure common understanding of business needs
  • Monitor and resolve queries raised by Developers and Testers
  • Coordinate unresolved queries with Business if not present during handover
  • Monitor that specification is updated with any additional requirements
  • Draft functional specs

  • Establish business requirements from users
  • Research system implications and solutions in conjunction with IT
  • Document the requirements and solutions
  • Circulate for review, arrange JAD’s and update specification and obtain sign off from stakeholders
  • Test solution as developed and sign off results for acceptability before and post implementation

  • Compilation of systems documentation and maintenance thereof

  • Follow up on finalisation of outstanding functional specifications
  • Provide systems training to the business from time to time

  • Investigate and resolve system bugs

  • Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance
