About the Division

    Experience / Knowledge Required :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification - a commercial / business or legal qualification would be an advantage.
  • Outsourcing experience.
  • Hands-on risk management experience and a good understanding of risk management in a professional services environment and the application of risk management methodologies.
  • Quality management experience in a professional services environment.
  • Working experience in enterprise risk management, contract management and legal risk management in a corporate environment.
  • Management consulting and / or project management experience - previous work experience in any of the following areas would be useful :
  • Outsourcing business / projects
  • Technology business / projects
  • General management consulting business / project
  • About the Job

    We are seeking to recruit an experienced project / enterprise risk manager who will be working within the Deloitte Consulting business, assisting in the identification and management of risk, and acting as an independent advisor to leadership.

    This role is specifically in our Managed Services consulting business, and we are looking for a candidate with strong Outsourcing experience who is interested in expanding his / her career into risk and quality management.

    This is a multi-dimensional role with a number of focus areas including risk process and integration, risk management, quality management, process compliance, as well as an element of legal and contracting. Key Performance Area's

  • Strategic Impact - Supports the implementation of strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to specific area of expertise
  • Client Impact : External / Internal - Forms appropriate judgements based on careful analysis to makes sound business decisions on engagements / projects
  • Operational Effectiveness - Manages business / project risk through oversight and support of business in relation to firm risk and quality policies, systems and processes.
  • Development / Growth of Team - Mentors and develops team members and counselees on an ongoing basis
  • Budgets / Profitability - Resources engagement teams with suitable talent, balancing correct levels and numbers and recruiting as necessary
  • What you’ll do / Specialized Competencies - the following will be the responsibilities of each of the individuals fulfilling these roles in the different parts of the business :
  • Service and product risk management :
  • Deep understanding of the different service and product offerings in the business, and their inherent risks.
  • Classifying, evaluating, and monitoring risks, and implementing mitigations for the risks identified both at an organisational and project / product level.
  • Involvement in business development / proposal processes :
  • Working closely with proposal teams, providing guidance on risk management processes in the preparation of proposals and tenders to potential clients, through the assessment of risk, quality and contracting implications of tenders and proposals and the effective execution thereof.
  • Review of proposals, and ensuring compliance with firm risk processes.
  • Review and analysis of costing and pricing models.
  • Project delivery risk & quality management :
  • Working closely with client delivery project teams to support the delivery of risk management capability to projects, ensuring sound risk management processes are in place on projects, and that these are being executed effectively.
  • Evaluation of project risks and the development, execution and monitoring of project risk management plans.
  • Assisting project teams in the resolution of project risk challenges and disputes, conducting project and file reviews, and assisting with project closeout activities.
  • Maintaining a portfolio view of projects within the business and maintaining a project watch list, ensuring adequate leadership focus on relevant projects.
  • Assessment of project quality management processes and execution, and conducting quality reviews on projects.
  • Business risk & quality management support :
  • On-going rollout of relevant training and providing hands-on assistance to consultants.
  • Ensuring effective execution of and compliance with risk & quality management processes in the business, and driving ad hoc risk & quality management initiatives in the business.
  • Identification of operational risks and inefficiencies, and recommendation of practical business improvements to address these.
  • Development of business continuity plans and contingency procedures.
  • Risk analysis and reporting the monthly status of risk management to stakeholders.
