Your key job responsibilities as the Director of Procurement in Johannesburg will include :

  • Develop organizational procurement strategy
  • Control development and maintenance of procurement databases
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate policy and procedures
  • Manage purchase requests and ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Manage material flow to ensure material stock maintained at the optimum level to support all business units’ needs on time
  • Arrange and manage storage facilities & related logistics
  • Arrange the import of goods and monitor progress with forwarders and import agents
  • Manage all activities that improve relationships with suppliers, negotiate to secure advantageous terms and ensure execution of purchasing requests as needed to support business needs
  • Develop and monitor department budget
  • Control over purchasing staff in sourcing, contracting, purchasing, supplier management, and other activities regarding purchasing
  • Set and manage short, mid and long-term goals and objectives
  • Requirements for this Director of Procurement job in Johannesburg :

  • Higher education (economics, banking and finance, logistics)
  • At least 3-years’ working experience in similar position (preferably, in hospitality hotel, bars, restaurants)
  • Experience in use of Materials Control and 1C systems advantageous
  • English : Upper-intermediate
  • Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
