A global leader specialising in the development and manufacturing of superior agricultural products requires the above to be responsible for the technical support, product development and marketing of plant nutrition products within the agricultural industry.

Minimum requirements for the role :

  • B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture or related is essential.
  • AVCASA / BASOS certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ working experience in plant nutrition or related is essential.
  • Previous working experience in speciality crops such as fruit or citrus or vegetable is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well within a team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Managing and conducting the Research and Development trial programme for crops and products, in line with product strategies.
  • Overseeing the design and evaluation of suitable product combinations.
  • Ensuring that all development activities are aligned with the requirements of the various guidelines provided under Act 36 of 1947.
  • Securing the services of approved trial contractors and providing the required resources to ensure that trials are implemented timeously in relevant crop regions to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Analysing trial results and drafting summaries to demonstrate how trial objectives were achieved and proposing amendments for further development to ensure that project objectives are achieved.
  • Providing technical field support in support of company commercial objectives.
  • Participating in crop meetings by providing accurate updates on technical trial results as well as relevant technical expertise to ensure that product development remains relevant to market needs.
  • Compiling biological data dossiers, inclusive of all efficacy, selectivity, compatibility and residue studies.
  • Drafting product labels to reflect the correct GAP, warnings, compatibility and general use instructions in support of new submissions.
  • Assisting in the review of existing product labels to ensure that the content is clear and relevant to customer needs.
  • Managing trial sample requests to ensure that samples are delivered in time for effective trial execution.
  • Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
