A well-known and established International company specialising in the manufacturing of specialised food ingredients requires the above to oversee all manufacturing in the plant as well as manage production, engineering, product quality, GMP’s, food safety and conversion costs for the site.
A well-known and established International company specialising in the manufacturing of specialised food ingredients requires the above to manage, communicate and facilitate performance within Operations including Quality, Safety and Supply Chain.
The incumbent will be accountable for the identification, implementation and communication of continuous improvement projects, as well as leading use of visual management, 5S, HPO and other Lean tools.
Minimum requirements for the role :
BEng / BSc degree in Industrial Engineering.
Lean Six-Sigma (Green Belt) or equivalent.
Knowledge and understanding of tracking, analysing and communicating KPIs.
Experience of improvement projects (using a DMAIC approach).
Competence in Excel (expert), SAP, Access, Powerpoint & other MS office applications.
Demonstrate competence of working in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, pharmaceutical or automotive.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Management of equipment and resources to execute business improvement activities.
To utilise all necessary skills and resources at their disposal to ensure the site of responsibility is aligned to regional facilities in relation to visual management.
Supporting and / or delivering projects that contribute to a reduction in manufacturing costs.
Drive and challenge performance, actions and escalation processes to increase Production Performance in the Factory, facilitate JTM Room and Performance Boards and Leading monthly Performance Reviews.
Maintain Best Practise standards for metrics within the region and globally.
Establish, track and maintain capability of existing and new processes and equipment to minimise variation and drive reliable performance.
Actively establish, track, validate and monitor progress on a portfolio of projects.
Support and coach Operators with new Ideas as a vehicle for innovation and an incubator for future improvement projects.
Facilitate and coach regular use of Root Cause Analysis by all functions and levels.
Report monthly on project status, validated benefits plus sustainability of results (for minimum of 6 months)
Facilitate the use of High Performance and Lean tools (including but not limited to; 5S, 8 Wastes, SMED, VSM, TPM, Visual Factory) to drive targeted performance improvements in productivity, safety, quality and service.
Maintain robust project management and change control protocols.
Develop new strategies for future performance.
Identify business improvement projects with Site Operations Manager within Operations, Quality, Safety and Supply Chain.
Provide supporting data analysis and justifications for any technology improvements and capital expenditures as well as conduct feasibility studies.
Incorporate Best Practise processes and performance management, for example, value stream mapping, labour utilisation and planning
Collaborate with other sites within the region and globally to align on Best Practise and gain advantages through leverage opportunities
