An award-winning safari company with 12 lodges and camps across five regions of Africa is looking for an experienced, innovative and dedicated Asssistant General Manager to manage one of their 5 Stars properties.
Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the property, by planning and implementing Strategic Management Plans
Drive the integration of sustainability throughout operations in line with the One Planet programme
Ensure ultimate guest relations in the lodges and that the personal attention levels are maintained
Management and training of the staff in line with the organisations standards of excellence
Maintain the highest standards of operations and ensure that style and décor is not eroded
Assisting in effective financial management and direct annual property budgeting process and control of costs thereafter
Assisting in coordination of annual property capital projects
Effective human resources practices.
Active participation in the property’s community development programmes
Assisting in the oversight and coordination of the property’s Risk Management
Solid experience in the high end luxury hospitality market
Exceptional Food and Beverage and Rooms Division knowledge
Sound financial acumen
A hardworking, co-operative, motivating manner
Demonstrated commitment to integrity, quality, excellent customer service and uncompromising ethical standards
Excellent management / leadership ability and communication skills
A clear understanding of labour law and disciplinary procedures
A developmental approach to staff and succession planning
Understanding of all operational procedures, e.g. housekeeping and maintenance
