The Group Data Governance Manager is responsible for Dimension Data’s global data policies, standards and rules and drives adherence to those.

The Data Governance Manager exercises control over processes and methods used by data stewards and data custodians in order to optimise data quality.

The Data Governance Manager provides support in building a Data Management function within Dimension Data, as well as support to large business transformation projects with regard to Data Harmonisation for entities on-

boarding data to the Global Template (especially SAP, Direct (quoting system), Salesforce and ITSM / ServiceNow). Key touchpoints for the Data Governance Manager are Business (primarily through the Business Forums), Data Stewards, GIS and Programme stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

Data policies and procedures

The Data Governance Manager will work with business to develop and implement the relevant data management policies and procedures that will enable a consistent approach to data management.

He / she will strive to continuously improve processes and systems to deliver the greatest business benefit and challenge the status quo demonstrating a continuous improvement mind-

set. He / she will be the process owner for relevant standard operating procedures and develop and own new standard operating procedures relating to master data management.

He / she will provide training on global data processes and concepts

Business Master Data Management

The Data Governance Manager will work with key data stewards to regularly undertake data analysis, including data usage to drive data quality to the required and agreed solutions.

He / she will identify and manage projects to improve data standardisation, data accuracy and data integrity drive improvement, streamlining and cost reduction.

He / she will define data structures above the database level, as well as naming conventions, and ensure the correct data creation, data hierarchy and general data correctness and accuracy.

He / she analyses and helps solve master data problems and provide support for efficient daily operations.

Data Management system

The Data Governance Manager will work closely with Group Information Systems (GIS) and a variety of stakeholders to optimise the standardisation of data in the applications in scope.

He / she will collaborate with GIS, including application owners, to ensure data maintenance and data and system optimisation as well as the establishment of a master data management system and structure.

Behavioural skills

The Data Governance Manager is a governance and process driven individual with excellent analytical skills. He / she has excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.

They are effective problem solvers with excellent attention to detail.

In this position you will be required to :

Establish data policies and standards

Establish and govern a global data governance implementation roadmap

Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise

Establish and improve policies, processes and procedures with regards to master data management.

Define indicators of quality metrics and drive compliance with data related policies, standards and adoption requirements

Ensure overall accuracy and quality of data and recommend continuous improvements on optimal data management.

Collaborate with stakeholders to support building of data management applications and supporting systems.
