Job Description

Senior Network Engineer - Technology Transformational Solutions Network Services. Network support and maintenance for various clients

  • Perform onsite and remote diagnostics & problem resolution to client problems
  • Identify and assist with software Bug Fix’ resolutions.
  • Update problem resolution / knowledge database.
  • Update Configuration Database if changes were made in problem resolution
  • Change management - Notify responsible parties to update changes to Network Layouts / Drawings when applicable
  • Keep abreast of new technology and new updates and revisions
  • Promote technical excellence to the field.
  • Disseminate relevant technical information to the field.
  • Maintain close relationships with the Service engineers.
  • Do support / product investigations.
  • Conduct analysis of problems.
  • Escalate problems to the Product suppliers when required and manage them.
  • Take pro-active action to reduce escalation of problems.
  • Provide feedback to service engineers and management of task progress
  • Recommend appropriate action to prevent failures.
  • Assist telephonically with installations and be tech lead in larger implementations.
  • Inform field about new Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Software updates / patches, etc.
  • Essential Skills

  • Cisco CCNP qualification in Routing & Switching or similar professional certification
  • All round general skills in routing & switching, collaboration, WLAN and security
  • Great understanding of current technology protocols and inoperability
  • Must be mature and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Be able to take initiative and lead
  • Need to be a very structured person
  • Need to be very hands-on and with recent exposure in problem-solving
  • Knowledge and skills - Other

  • Good Understanding of process, procedures and work instructions
