A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen in the Africa Operations Department. The business requires an analytical, driven and capable Chartered Accountant to support the operations on the continent.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • At least two year’s experience in a similar position
  • Presentation, report writing and data analysis skills
  • Competence in MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Use of JDE E1 and Qlikview advantageous
  • Basic understanding of forex
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • The position requiresa self motivated individual with strong Microsoft Excel skills, stronganalytical skills and attention to detail who is able apply initiative and theability to work under pressure.

    The role will require an out of the box thinker whounderstands international trade, operations management and complex accountingand taxation scenarios.

    A strong grasp of internal controls and the controlenvironment is required along with a keen understanding of business plans andoperations.

    The main responsibilities of this position include :

  • Oversee the finance departments in various countries
  • Provide technical assistance on accounting and taxation queries in various territories
  • Oversee the debtors and creditors cycles in various finance departments
  • Understand the manufacturing and cost accounting environment where we have manufacturing facilities
  • Develop an understanding of local laws that affect business across the continent
  • Treasury management across various currencies and jurisdictions
  • Monitor and enhance internal controls and operational principles across African countries
  • Provide support for ERP systems at a high level
  • Get involved in operational decisions and processes in various countries.
  • Prepare business plans for new ventures and track performance against these
  • Review of monthly management accounts
  • Assist in the budgeting process across all territories
  • Manage the South African department accounts and budgets
  • Liaise with banks and regulatory bodies across the continent to ensure compliance
  • Manage finance staff both in South Africa and abroad to achieve departmental objectives
