Create and structure finance and accounts department in consultation with senior management, which facilities practical and dynamic internal controls.
Reviewing of the processes and internal controls in place and propose refinement in the designing of internal controls framework across the organization.
Managing risk management process’ documentation and consent for the finance and accounts functions.
Working closely and train staff in the accounts and finance department.
Corresponding with senior management regarding any non-routine and important financial decisions on a proactive basis.
Preparing and maintaining of an advanced accounting manual.
Preparing ERP coaching manual in consultation with the ERP development and implementation team.
To plan and engage in the training schedules to ensure smooth and efficient ERP implementation
To participate vigorously in the implementation of new accounting tools and software for revised efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the accounts function.
Establish financial and operating budgets and performance goals for assorted functions across the organization.
Implementation of efficient budgetary control by tracking key account metrics for each vertical, including suggesting corrective steps to reverse elements of actual performance which is not in line with the budgets or assumptions.
To review cost arrangement and recommend cost control / reduction measures.
Designing financial and management reporting procedures in consultation with the Financial Director.
To guide the accounts manager to accomplish the objective of timely preparation of management accounts for review by management and for dissemination of information to external agencies like banks
To meet deadlines for timely report of the results to stock exchanges for all recorded companies within the group.
Monitoring direct and indirect taxation aspects along with but not limited to returns, assessments, appeals, clearance certificates
Reviewing of tax returns and VAT returns
Commanding timely submissions of all legal records and returns expected from the accounts and finance teams for assigned business verticals.
Preparing of financial projections and introductions for internal and external use as considered by senior management
To command timely completion of the financial reporting process and establishment of the IFRS compliant annual financial statements for the purpose of audit
Timeously complete of all audits and submitting of audited financial statements to the external shareholders, regulators and banks.
Mentoring the accounts team throughout the audit processes, including being present during conversations with auditors on key account assumptions and estimations.
Setting up an in-house internal audit responsibility for review of key operations and with appropriate focus on the assessment of checks and controls that minimize the risk of fraud due to misappropriation of funds, embezzlement of assets and misuse of functional powers.
Standard reporting required for weekly, monthly and annually.
Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting
Must have CA Qualification
Minimum of 5 - 7 working experience in Financial Accounting, Reporting, People Management at Mid-management level within the mining industry
