  • Matric qualification.
  • Travel or Tourism Certificate.
  • Minimum 10 years travel consulting experience in a leisure travel environment,
  • Galileo GDS experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office Applications - Outlook, Office.
  • Able to meet sales targets and perform under pressure.
  • Proven sales record.
  • Extensive global product and geographical travel knowledge.
  • Practical working experience with Galileo and fares and ticketing experience, together with refunds and reissue experience
  • High accuracy and concentration, focusing on detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative skills.

  • Responsibilities Sales Performance

  • To achieve monthly sales targets as agreed with your Travel Manager.
  • To sell the complete range of the company’s Travel and Lifestyle products.
  • To maximise revenue generation by selling preferred products.
  • To contribute new and innovative ideas to continuously improve sales, best practice and internal procedures
  • To be adaptable to the needs of the business in terms of sales focus and directionally sell into campaigns and sales incentives.
  • To adopt and follow work procedures as outlined in future procedures
  • To maximise sales by meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Customer Service

  • To build a rapport with customers and maintain their confidence throughout the sales conversation
  • Use personal travel experience and product training to provide excellent advice to customers.
  • Take full responsibility for the administration and ongoing support of your bookings and keep customer informed of progress.
  • Support colleagues’ customers to ensure they receive an excellent level of customer service in the absence of their Sales Consultant.
  • To respond to customer enquiries in an efficient and timely manner to meet the customer needs.
  • Handle any customer complaints in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Team Role

  • To work as an effective member of your team and across other departments.
  • Provide support to the newer and existing members of the team to the benefit of the company by sharing your own experience and knowledge.
  • Personal Development

  • Proactively seek to enhance your own personal development with assistance from your Travel Manager.
  • To take part in training sessions and briefings (may be after working hours due to operational nature of the role), in order to gain a clear understanding of products and booking procedures
  • Working hours

  • Monday Friday, 08h00 17H00.
  • Saturdays 09H00 12H00
  • Consultant may be required to work shifts.
