The purpose of the job is to be responsible for data collection, analysis and conversion in order to identify and highlight emerging trends / patterns and to make recommendations so as to inform the decision makers.

Consult with clients to understand and interprete client requirements.

Collect and analyse relevant data using mathematical techniques and software.

Analyse and interpret statistical data in order to identify patterns, significant differences in relationships among sources of information within MAA environment and report conclusions, projections and recommendations based on trustworthy data to decision makers

Apply sampling techniques or utilise complete enumeration bases in order to determine and define groups of interest to be analysed.

Design research projects that apply valid scientific techniques and utilise financial intelligence information obtained from analysed data in order to structure uncompromised and efficient analyses.

Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods.

Evaluate various sources of information in order to determine any limitations in terms of objectivity, reliability or usability.

Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data in order to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy for the benefit of operations.

Identify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research.

Plan data collection methods for specific projects, and determine the types and sizes of sample groups to be used.

Process large amounts of data for statistical modeling and graphic analysis, using computers.

Report results of statistical analyses in a variety of formats, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables to the decision makers.

Develop an understanding of fields to which statistical methods are to be applied in order to determine whether methods and results are appropriate.

Prepare data for processing by organising information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data to ensure correct analyses.

Liaise with members with regards to collecting and tabulating data.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional qualitative and quantitative skills, as evidenced by formal training in statistics and data mining
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics or a related field and must include differential and integral calculus, statistical methods, mathematical modeling, and probability theory.
  • The candidate must show developed techniques to overcome problems in data collection and analysis, such as high nonresponse rates, so that they can draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to present statistical information and ideas so that others will understand.
  • Advanced effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence and credibility to persuasively interact at all levels within the organisation and clients.
