Ensure that relevant customer services team complies with designated systems processes; in terms arrangement of forwarding, obtaining Marine Insurance Cover where required and liaising with foreign offices to expedite shipments in accordance with agreed client SOP’s.
Assist the team to determine best routing requirements on forwarding of shipments to ensure most effective transit times achieved.
Arrange and coordinate deliveries via approved transporters to ensure timeous delivery of imported goods.
Monitor the cental registration team activites and ensure that once handover point is reached, that the relevant team actions their requirements.
Assist the team in liaising with the relevant entities for the clearing instructions and requesting all necessary documentation from clients, placing documents in customs and following up on final release.
Ensure that all clearances are timeously managed by the customs team.
Ensure that the customer services team interacts with clients as per defined client retention strategy, and provide visible support and information in response to enquiries and queries pertaining to shipment movement, customs queries, updating and submission of client tracking, SBi status reports and KPI’s.
Lead the customer services team through coaching, developing and motivating subordinates including follow-up of team and individual performance against targets and objectives aligned with overall company strategy.
Contribute to an effective service delivery through the handling, monitoring and control of Air Freight Import shipments from start to finish within required specifications and in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
Cost consious and assisting and ensuring the teams invoicing and costs are in accordance with targets and procedures and files are closed within the set time.
10 years’ relevant experience of which 2 years’ managing an Air / Ocean freight function.
Comprehensive knowledge of International Air / Ocean Industry and operations processes.
Relevant Technical experience.
