Here's what you can expect to be doing in the role : (KPA's)

  • Preparation of the Group’s consolidated interim and annual financial statements (summarised and full) under IFRS ensuring that they are delivered to a high standard with relevant disclosures in a timely manner
  • Preparation of subsidiary annual financial statements under IFRS
  • Preparation of financial information for purposes of investor presentations
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Oversee the process for consolidating operating entity results
  • Own the corporate and treasury accounting items including, but not limited to, inter-company eliminations, inter-company interest, share option costs etc.
  • Assist in providing analysis and input in the annual budget process on corporate transactions
  • Provide technical financial advice to the Group under IFRS
  • Proactively research technical accounting and reporting matters and assess their potential impact on the Group
  • Monitor best practice and make recommendations to the executive management
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports for compliance purposes (treasury covenants etc.)
  • Assist in ad-hoc tasks and projects, which typically have a commercial focus and exposure to senior management
  • Provide support to the Group Tax Manager as and when required
  • Requirements

    A little about who you are :

  • CA (SA) is a mandatory requirement
  • Big Four articles will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years' post articles experience, ideally preparing consolidated financial statements for a medium to large group
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of IFRS
  • Hyperion / Microsoft AX experience will be advantageous
  • Passionate about financial reporting
  • Exposure to Retail will be an added advantage
