Fleet & Equipment Coordinator

The Fleet and Equipment Coordinator will be a key member of the G Africa fleet team. The position’s primary tasks include, but are not limited to, the responsibility of fleet coordination between departments, camping and vehicle equipment management and the upkeep of the equipment.
They will assist to ensure the vehicles are in safe, clean and appropriately branded condition, that equipment is up to standard and liaise with the Admin & Logistics Assistant regarding up to date and valid permits.
Managing of the G Africa camping and vehicle equipment and any maintenance and / or repair necessary.
Managing of budgets, invoices, suppliers and supplier relationships relevant to your position description and responsibilities.
Managing of check-in’s and check-outs of vehicles and equipment as necessary at Cape Town workshop.
Responsible for collecting all documentation from CEOs on arrival relevant to vehicle and camping equipment check-in’s and check outs, adding it to Google drive and collaborating with the Admin and Logistics Coordinator.
Managing the cleaning and packing of vehicles and camping equipment at Cape Town workshop.
Assist the G Africa Diesel Technician in general vehicle and workshop maintenance.
Assist the G Africa Diesel Technician in keeping up-to-date vehicle log books, histories and service histories.
Assist the G Africa Diesel Technician in ordering of inventory of parts / spares as necessary for the Cape Town workshop.
Assist and collaborate in managing the fleet USP’s regarding maintenance, CEO training and providing innovative suggestions to stay ahead in our industry.
Carry the operations emergency phone as required with others in the rotation.
Assist Tour Operations Team with on road vehicle breakdowns and rescues.
Ensure consistency of vehicle branding according to G Adventures' brand policy.
Encourage CEO engagement in general and through the use of G Nation and social media.
Be an ambassador of the G Adventures core values and lead by example.
Assist in Project management and supervision of new vehicle builds as required.
Minimum 2 years of travel and tourism experience
Basic vehicle and equipment maintenance experience / skills
Organized and detail oriented
People management experience
Advanced oral and written skills in English
Charismatic with ability to motivate others and a take charge personality
Understanding and commitment to the G Adventures core values and business model
Ability to manage a crisis and take responsibility for the safety of others
Strong time management skills
Flexible and positive attitude
Able and willing to travel as required
Demonstrated decision making abilities along with a take charge leadership personality
Legally able to work in South Africa
