The role is accountable for growing and driving customer engagement across all relevant digital platforms, including customer adoption of digital sales and self-
service channels. The role will provide clear direction for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) across the whole Vodacom business, working in close coordination with the Brand, Segment and Digital Channel squads.
Outputs include driving SEO strategies and plans to deliver on overall brand and commercial goals within the various business units.
The function plays a primary role in driving the optimisation of the overall behavioural measurement score (BMS) for brand consideration and digital channel experience (TNPS), as well as revenue generated through digital channels and associated cost savings.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
Responsible for growing organic traffic through effective SEO to reduce dependency on paid media and overall cost per acquisition
Responsible for all aspects of on-page SEO, including content optimisation and page meta data
Perform regular site crawls and fix issues. Ensure adherence to technical SEO guidelines
Execute regular keyword analysis and use this to inform ongoing optimisation work.
Work with the social media and other content teams to identify and exploit opportunities for natural link building via social and other relevant channels
Be the key person responsible and single point of contact for all Search Engine Optimisation topics within Vodacom
Key performance indicators :
Rank for main converting keywords and for secondary benchmark keywords
Increase in organic traffic
Reduction in paid search spend for main converting keywords
Must have technical / professional qualifications :
3 year Business related Degree or National Diploma
Minimum of 3 to 5 yrs relevant experience essential in :
Driving commercial & operational targets for the SEO domain sales, revenue, profitability, adoption of products and services
Excellent understanding of technical tools for SEO analysis
Experience in managing SEO for large consumer facing brands
Have excellent analytical skills, the ability to interpret data and trends along with meticulous attention to detail.
Capable of working in a complex matrix organisation and able to build strong relationships and credibility with multiple levels both internally and externally
