    The Infrastructure Manageris responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance and support of the various technologies used within the Organisation through the server and storage teams in accordance with best practices.

    Minimum Qualification - Bachelors degree in IT or a relevant IT degree Preferred Qualification - Bachelors degree in IT or a relevant IT degree Experience -

    Five years of junior management experience in a technological environment within a financial institution

    All appointments will be made in line with WesBank’s EE Strategy


  • Management of both the Windows and Unix server environments requiring a high-level understanding of AIX, Linux, WebSphere, Storage, Windows Server, Active directory, VMWare and networking.
  • Lead these teams with the support of Technical Leads in both the Unix and the windows environment and will be responsible for : · Human resource capacity management inclusive of performance management · People development through proper career path planning · The day to day Infrastructure planning and capacity management · Management and planning of changes and upgrades for both hardware and software in the various environments · Management of budgets in alignment with approved budgets.

  • Supporting and implementation of projects through the infrastructure teams in alignment with agreed project plans and budgets as approved by the relevant governance boards.
  • Manage the research function within these teams to align with technology trends in order to grow staff competencies and technology functionality and capabilities within the environment.
  • These could potentially include cloud solutions, managed services, insourcing, outsourcing, etc. · Management of innovations to improve on technology platform capabilities and deliver on new technology trends that could possibly reduce operational costs, improve on customer service and increase employee productivity · Manage risk within these environments in conjunction with Technical Leads to ensure proper solutions and mitigations implemented and reported on to the relevant boards.

    Strategic planning in conjunction with the senior management team to align strategic initiatives with business strategies
