As a Bookkeeper, your primary responsibility is to support the Financial Accounting Manager in managing the country’s accounting function, providing accurate reporting and ensuring statutory / regulatory compliance of the finance function.

  • Participate in the daily, weekly and monthly close responsibilities of. (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Commentary)
  • Participate in all financial accounting functions including general ledger, debtors, creditors, cash and fixed assets.
  • Manage overheads within budget / forecast. Investigate accounts variances and misallocations.
  • Assist team with complex recons
  • Ensure internal controls systems are in place and are adequate.
  • Assist Financial Accounting Manager with Year-end reporting.
  • Manage and participate in the process of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Participate in statutory financial reporting (VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, TAX CLEARANCE)
  • Manage and participate in adhoc financial projects
  • Trusted Advisor to the business
  • Responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of Transactional procedures and processes
  • Assist the finance team in meeting monthly, quarterly and yearly SOX and statutory requirements
  • Completed matric & relevant completed diploma / degree
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and knowledge of any ERP (Maconomy) based Accounting program
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Ability to communicate in English (oral and written)
