A well-established agriculture chemical manufacturer requires the above to implement and manage the processes in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to product source verification and registration as well as manage the implementation of Global Harmonized System (GHS) specifications to product label processes.
Minimum requirements for the role :
A BSc Degree in Agriculture or Science is essential.
A relevant Honours degree would be preferred.
4-5 years’ relevant experience within a regulatory environment is essential.
Previous experience within the Agriculture or Pharmaceutical industry would be preferred but would consider someone from a science background with relevant regulatory experience.
AVCASA course must be obtained within 1 year of commencement.
Demonstrated competency with implementing GHS labelling and the classification of hazardous substances is essential.
Previous working knowledge within chemistry would be preferred.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Sound ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Monitoring the active substance review process and advising various relevant departments timeously on expected restrictions and phase-
outs to allow for proactive alignment and replacement strategies to be developed.
Ensuring confidentiality agreements and contracts related to product sources are subject to appropriate legal review.
Maintaining a database and Master data with up to date information.
Ensuring all new sources and formulators are registered and documented.
Liaising with procurement to ensure alignment with registration requirements.
Providing guidance to the regulatory team on requirements and process of GHS.
Selecting appropriate hazard communication criteria and developing effective strategies adapted to their specific context.
Developing GHS safety data sheets as well as ensuring that software generated is validated and aligned with local regulations.
Maintaining familiarity with company product ranges as well as handle requests for registration of products.
Investigating, validating and communicating with the laboratory in connection to product information.
Ensuring that quality standards are met and submissions meet strict deadlines.
Providing support to the registration renewal process for Southern Africa.
Participating in the drafting and updating of regulatory guidelines and company stewardship programmes.
