A well-established global chemical distribution company requires the above to be responsible for effecting moderately complex transactions related to commodities, derivative futures and option contracts on behalf of clients.
Minimum requirements for the role :
Degree or Diploma with 5 years related experience or 7-10 years’ related experience is essential.
Must have chemical raw material trading experience.
Degree or Diploma in Marketing and / or Sales is advantageous.
Must be computer literate with MS Office knowledge.
SAP knowledge will be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Assessing and approving supplier and market details.
Devising ways and means to maximise commodity buying efficiency and minimise risks.
Collaborating with commodities team to ensure deadlines are met.
Developing and managing pricing strategies.
Encouraging team spirit and discussing performance periodically.
Drafting proposals to manage contracts and negotiations.
Preserving and promoting company standards by building a strong and self-sufficient commodity supply base.
Collaborating with suppliers on improving quality.
Alleviating risks and focus on developing supplier performance.
Assisting in keeping project within budgeting guidelines.
Instructing and supporting trainees on commodity sourcing.
Supervising supply quality and feedback.
Inculcating extensive knowledge on commodities and their sales and purchase.
Developing and maintaining business communication with suppliers regarding their concerns.
Encouraging staff to design novel techniques for commodity sourcing.
