Senior Electric Motors Technician position exists within a stable company Johannesburg North. Salary R65 000 plus Medical Aid, Provident Fund and Car Allowance
Managing the service department for the electric motors including managing the testing bay.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and prioritises resources across the area of responsibility to meet functional business objectives. Selects high performing team members, and directs and monitors all activities in the department / function to ensure that agreed KPI targets are met.
Manage the after sales activities, including technical support, report writing, warranty, commissioning and sales of spare parts.
Coordinate Motor warranty claims between customers, COMPANY factories and other suppliers.
Coordinate quality checks and inspections on products returned for credit.
Coordinate, in conjunction with the product and sales areas, the certification of COMPANY products in South Africa.
Define and measure KPIs for all direct reports that align with the greater business development strategy for Rotating Machine products.
Develops individual development programs in order to ensure employees are able and capable to perform, and agreed departmental objectives are met.
Develops operational plans and schedules for work assignments in order to ensure cost efficiency and technical delivery on departmental level.
Drives employees’ performance by conducting Performance and Development Reviews.
Ensure that execution hardware and software infrastructure is implemented to successfully support the delivery of related services to customers.
Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and follows up on compliance within own area of responsibility.
Manage the motor test bay in the workshop.
Provide a monthly report and feedback to senior management on all aspects of the Customer Service Department for Rotating Machines.
Provide technical back-up and advice for all motor products and solutions to sales operations throughout the COMPANY Group.
Provides staff with specialist advice, knowledge sharing and coaching to enable staff to meet set expectations, and follows up on a regular basis to ensure technical delivery.
Training of service technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Matric with a recognized Trade (Electrical or Mechanical qualification).
National Diploma (Electrical or Mechanical) as a minimum tertiary qualification.
At least 5 years technical experience in the electrical motor industry and dealing with multi-disciplinary projects.
Computer literacy - Microsoft packages, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Office.
Proven ability to manage teams / people
