The role will be based at our Cape Town site.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you willbe responsible for the effective maintenance of process and service relatedequipment.
You will also be required to carry out electrical repairs andpreventative maintenance.
As a qualified artisan you will berequired to complete and maintain various records relating to statutoryrequirements as well as internal documentation.
There will also be arequirement for the successful candidate to be on standby and to work afterhours as and when required.
Key responsibilities will include butnot be limited to;
Implementationof preventative and or corrective measures
Contributeto plant availability of at least 90%
Drilldown to technical aspects of field of specialty
Participationin problem solving, improvement and or cost saving projects / initiatives
Followwork instructions relating to the QMS system
Raiserequisitions on Syspro for purchasing / ordering requirements
Ontime and in full delivery to internal customers
Capturehours and work performed on various tasks in detail and with 100% accuracy onDMS job cards
Identifyimprovements & assist in implementation
Initiation of non-conformances, SQA’s & completion of forms
Traincontractors / fellow employees on permit systems and or equipment usage
Personaldevelopment : Willing to be trained onvarious processes within BBI and also external training and developmentrelating to job function
Required to be trained and self-develop onautomation projects and electronic use of tablets for record keeping and orreporting
Requirements Qualification :
Technically qualified and trade tested
Millwright qualification would be advantageous
Knowledge & Experience :
3 to 5 years’ working experience in a maintenance role
Qualified technician with a proven trackrecord
Knowledge of GMP and ISO9001 requirements
Experience working in cGMP environmentwould be an advantage
Experience with freeze dry andrefrigeration maintenance would be advantageous
Welding experience, TIG and or Aergon
Lathe machine experience
Key skills required :
