We are in the process of recruiting a replacement head count within the Accident & Health and Specialty Personal Lines (SPL) businesses.
The Consumer Lines Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and driving strategy across Leisure Travel, Digital, SPL and PBI.
The role includes overall management of these LOB’s including meeting planned top line, new business and overall P&L responsibility.
The Consumer Lines Manager will be responsible for the strategic development of the LOBs and for the execution of the agreed plans to ensure they achieve financial growth and reach the agreed revenue and profit margins.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that their team are clear regarding priorities and goals for the entire functional area.
The Consumer Lines Manager will be expected to develop a strategy to ramp up Chubbs digital business, presenting revenue and bottom line assumptions and recommending objectives.
Furthermore the candidate will be responsible for accomplishing the agreed plan / budget by allocating appropriate resources, reviewing progress and making mid-course adjustments.
The ideal candidate would be a high level General Manger, with a background in Consumer Distribution including e-commerce and consumer focussed distribution channels.
The candid would be responsible for incrementally growing their LOBs revenue through identifying accounts and assisting the Travel Insurance BDM within new business and RFPs within Chubb underwriting appetite.
The role is based in Johannesburg and report into the Country President, South Africa. The role will also require interaction with various individuals within the European / E&A Regional Travel teams, and internal divisional heads / staff.
The role has three staff reporting into it and will require travelling locally / regionally / internationally from time to time.
1.The primary responsibility of the candidate is to execute of key consumer lines strategies, terminating programmes that do not meeting Chubb's benchmarks or underwriting criteria.
Furthermore the candidate must ensure that the LOB’s they are responsible for meets the agreed financial KPIs.
2.The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the new business development process with the Travel BDM. This process will include executing and bind new business to meet the planned new business target.
Sales pitch preparations and supporting the Travel BDM (i.e. RFPs RFIs AdHoc Sales Presentations) will be a requirement to meet the agreed new business plan.
Furthermore the candidate will be responsible for identifying and implementing revenue maximisation opportunities with existing partners.
The candidate must identify African expansion opportunities were the size of the business, ability to export premium out of the county and data supports a partnership.
3.The candidate will be instrumental in implementing and refining the Chubb SA digital strategy. Additional products and partners will need to be added to the platform, ultimately driving profit while managing ROAS.
4. Team management will be a requirement of the candidate ensuring each team member understand what is expected of them, in terms of their performance and contribution to the business.
Furthermore clear PMP objectives and performance must be set annually and assessed formally on a mid and year-end basis.
Regular coaching and feedback to direct reports is required to ensure they understand their strengths and development needs.
5.The candidate will be responsible for deliver timely and accurate production, projections and other reporting to local / regional / COG management.
Furthermore all monthly / quarterly forecasts must be provided with supporting commentary in good time to meet COG submission deadlines.
The candidate will be instrumental in country planning preparation and will play a proactive role in the management of South Africa Consumer Lines P&L in collaboration with the underwriting team.
Support must be provided to the underwriting team with the preparation of P&L’s for investment and underwriting approval.
6. The candidate must drive a customer centric culture in the business and ensure high quality customer service at all times.
Regular engagement with the operations and support team’s will ensuring maximum efficiency and service is adhere to. Proactively identify and manage those risks for which they have responsibility, including ensuring that effective controls are implemented.
7.Comply with all Chubb compliance policies, and ensure that business is done in a legally compliant manner. Ensure awareness of Chubb rules and that business is conducted an internally compliant manner.
