The Energy business manages the marketing and sales of all Sasol’s oil, gas and electricity products in Southern Africa.
In addition, our mandate is to oversee the growth of Sasol’s direct liquid fuels marketing presence, with a strong bias toward retail outlets in Southern Africa.
Internationally, we are responsible for Sasol’s gas-to-liquid (GTL) business ventures based on our proprietary technology, creating higher-value products
ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure effective, accurate and timely reporting of financial results to internal and external stakeholders of ROMPCO in South Africa and Mozambique are accurately and timeously reported and taxation is correctly calculated and paid over to the respective revenue authorities timeously.
Participates and provides input in business decision making, financial management of the entity and also ensures the effective management of the financial team.
Effective reporting of governance matters in the entity. Budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning for business decision making and effective investments.
Supports the Regulatory Reporting process and tariff regime, Treasury management, hedging and foreign currency risk management.
Effectively managing costing of and reporting on Operating and Maintenance (O&M) and Management and Administration (M&A) agreements, integrating between ROMPCO, Sasol Energy and Satellite Operations.
Ensure that Annual, provisional and deferred tax computations are correctly performed and submitted within deadlines, for both the SA Company and the Mozambique branch, to ensure compliance with tax laws and to avoid penalties(In conjunction with PSS Tax)
Ensure VAT & IVA returns are prepared and submitted correctly and timeously. Withholding tax on foreign dividend is correctly calculated and paid to SARS.
Ensure long term debt is correctly updated with rate resets and paid in terms of agreement.
Provide the necessary information within prescribed deadlines to external and internal auditors to ensure audits are seamless and completed timeously.
Compilation of the budget and analysis thereof.
Provide accurate and complete information to shareholders for their year-end reporting requirements.
Income / Profits support
GL Reconciliations - Manage GL reconciliation process which includes all the GL accounts feeding into the financial accounts and management accounts.
