A fantastic opportunity exists with a well-established blue-chip company within the manufacturing industry. My client, based in Johannesburg, is urgently looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team.

Minimum Required Experience :

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA or CA) with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE
  • IFRS, GAAP and US GAAP up to date knowledge
  • Experience in construction or manufacturing industry
  • Sarbanes Oxley compliance experience and application of key controls
  • Experience of system implementations and support within a full lifecycle ERP solution
  • Experience of working in a project costing environment
  • Percentage of completion calculations, WIP reporting
  • Technically and numerically strong
  • Confident and able communicator who can influence and persuade others
  • Professional approach to reporting
  • Management experience is mandatory.
  • Duties Include but not limited to :

  • Daily, weekly and monthly processes in the financial system to ensure the accuracy and timeline of financial information.
  • Actively participate in overhead cost reviews, working closely with the management accountant and the financial accountant.
  • Perform and manage all required balance sheets and income recons required for the accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to Group Operating Manuals, King111 requirements, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and US GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure data integrity in all financial systems.
  • Ensure VAT obligations are met and properly reconciled.
  • Perform month end closing procedure for the general ledger and ensure all transactions are interfaced.
  • Process CRS reporting requirements.
  • Ensure manual and system transaction accounts reconcile to applicable reports and this shall be reviewed with the financial manager.
  • Close all open accounting issues prior to or on the last day of the month.
  • Explain any variances to forecast and budgets and issue reports as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of the monthly forecast, strategic planning and annual budget.
  • Perform capital expenditure / ROIC reviews (as necessary) for proposed capital projects and track ROIC performance of implemented capital projects.
  • Track and control overhead spending.
  • Perform weekly / monthly and annual treasury reports and foreign exchange analyses.
