In anticipation of rigs being activated in our Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions, Ensco is recruiting externally for Toolpushers.

Vacancies for these roles may not be immediate and are contingent upon stacked rigs being reactivated. Successful candidates must be willing to work anywhere in these regions.

Job Summary Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the MODU as outlined by OIM, and oversee drilling operations and Drill crew.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own safety as well as that of the Drill crew
  • Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings
  • Supports OIM in managing the operation and safety of MODU
  • Administers and supports safety systems in all aspects of MODU operation
  • Ensures application of appropriate well control measures
  • Assists in organization and supervision of casing, cementing, well testing, wireline, and work-over operations
  • Participates in on-the-job and formal training of the Drill crew
  • Assists in implementation of preventative and planned maintenance programs
  • Ensures all installation equipment and surfaces meet regulatory specifications and company requirements
  • Maintain appropriate logs and records in accordance with Ensco Management System (EMS), regulatory, and certification agency requirements
  • Experience

  • Two (2) or more years as Toolpusher with prior offshore experience preferred
  • Education, Training, Licenses and / or Certifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Must meet all the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations.
  • Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines

    Minimum Requirements for this position

  • Demonstrate and conduct behavior in line with Ensco vision and core values and Ensco Management System (EMS)
  • Demonstrates understanding and is proactive regarding STOP program objectives
  • Encourage awareness and actively participate in STOP program
  • Must have the ability to initiate and promote Stop Work Authority
  • Must be willing to notify direct supervisor of any unsafe acts, safety violations or potential safety violations
  • Compliance with Ensco training, certification and competence requirements
  • Physically capable of performing Emergency Response team Duties as per MODU Station Bill
  • Minimum Requirements for all Ensco positions

  • Commitment to Ensco’s high standard of safety and willing and able to comply with all safety laws, as well as Ensco’s safety policies standards and procedures
  • Able to display commitment to Ensco’s safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others
  • Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Must have excellent team-working and organizational skills
  • Work effectively alone or as part of a team on projects
  • Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.
  • Able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance
  • Available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as determined necessary to meet business needs
  • PC proficiency required - competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or greater
