Purpose of the Job :

Gibela will supply 600-trains fleet with Technical Support and Spare Supply over 19years to his customer. The fleet will be spread in 5 depots with 4 different configurations.

Gibela must provide training to his customer and has strong commitments to develop the skills of these own people. The position will require travel between Gibela Training Facilities (Gauteng) and sites in Durban, Cape Town and Eastern Cape.

She / he is responsible to :

  • Prepare and conduct training programs.
  • Gather / prepare all necessary material to deliver the training.
  • Record and Analyse training evaluation.
  • Monitor people performance against evaluation criteria / post course performance.
  • Coordinate the training (Internal Trainers, Room, Invitation, Travel .)
  • Organizational Reporting :

  • Reporting to the TSSSA ToT Coordinator
  • Network & Links

    Internal : Engineering Team, Manufacturing Team (Repair and Overhaul), EHS Team, Human Resources, training team in Dunnottar and Ubunye, Quality Team, IT Team.

    Performance Measurement :

  • Effectiveness of training programs.
  • Training completed vs. training planned.
  • Tasks & Responsibilities :

    The key responsibilities of the position are as follows but not limited to

  • Identify training needs.
  • Prepare training material and classroom agenda.
  • Develop training aids such as learner guides, manuals, handbooks, practical examples (mock ups), Slide shows, handouts, etc.
  • Manage the training program in accordance with the training QMS.
  • Handle logistics for training activities including travels and equipment.
  • Conduct training programs using recognized training techniques and tools.
  • Continual contact with Dunnottar trainers to share best practices and improve training material
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, on-the-job coaching and training, virtual simulators, videos.
  • Record and analyze training evaluation.
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Monitor people performance against evaluation criteria / post course performance.
  • Identify and assist struggling trainees.
  • Identifying internal and external technical training programs to address competency / learning gaps.
  • Keep up to date with current technical training design and development methodologies.
  • Update the training program.
  • Ensure that ALL EHS rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all company rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Educational Requirements :

  • Recognized engineering qualification in a relevant engineering discipline along with the ability to demonstrate a practical application in a maintenance-
  • engineering environment.

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Competent IT user including, standard office packages and inter / intra net
  • Certified Assessor / Facilitator
  • Desired Knowledge / Experience :

  • Relevant experience, minimum 3-5years, in Engineering Maintenance (Railway) preferred.
  • 3years experience with instruction and training.
  • Communication skills (Written and verbal)
  • Presentation skills.
  • Data gathering and analysis.
  • Problem solving and analysis
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of competency assessment.
  • Knowledge of instructional material design.
  • Knowledge of training and learning methodologies.
