A leading international chemicals company requires the above to oversee the warehouse and logistics staff as well as ensure efficient logistics operations in terms of cost, stock management and service quality for the warehouse, whilst implementing standards and best practices.
Minimum requirements for the role :
Minimum Grade 12.
Tertiary Qualification or Diploma in Logistics or Warehouse Management would be advantageous.
Must have 2 - 3 years’ experience within a chemical environment.
SAP experience would be preferred.
Must be able to drive a forklift.
Must be attention to detail.
Excellent daily management, planning and executing skills are essential.
Must have Hazchem experience and understand the health and safety requirements of a chemical warehouse.
Must be energetic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Managing and maintaining the complete warehousing function.
Managing the internal fleet.
Tracking and managing inventory.
Managing warehouse administration.
Managing stock in-flows and out-flows.
Despatching local and national orders.
Managing priority deliveries and coordinating deliveries with internal sales.
Coordinating external logistics companies.
Compiling the monthly warehousing reports and quarterly board reports.
Liaising with the Production, Finance and Sales Departments.
Controlling and running stock takes and cycle counts.
Participating with and supporting Health and Safety initiatives within the company.
Inspecting the warehouse and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
Reviewing and improving warehouse processes.
Managing, coaching and mentoring employees.
Evaluating performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes.
