A well-established leading comminution, separation and sorting technology provider to the mining and metallurgical plant operations, chemical and industrial industries, as well as pulp and paper industries, requires the above to attain the maximum number of high profitability prospects and develop a robust sales pipeline in capital equipment as well as selling capital equipment to various engineer

Minimum requirements for the role :

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Extraction Metallurgy is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ sales and marketing experience within the mining and minerals processing industry.
  • Project management experience would be advantageous.
  • Must have advanced budgeting skills.
  • Knowledge of business and sales principals.
  • Must have a technical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Must be self-motivated and have solid time management skills.
  • Must have a SA ID and valid passport as well as a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Conferring with existing and potential customers, industry bodies and other relevant individuals and organisations to identify needs and match these to engineering capabilities.
  • Managing opportunities for equipment from the initial concept, through to the order phase and installation.
  • Generating new prospects through marketing, presentations and networking activity.
  • Developing and matching equipment and process technologies to provide value-added solutions.
  • Creating and conducting marketing and proposal presentations.
  • Selecting and sizing equipment as well as determining the scope of supply.
  • Developing costings, determining margin, preparing pricing and pricing schedules.
  • Providing timely, accurate and competitive proposals on all enquiries, while striving to maintain optimum profits targets.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all internal and external correspondence, pricings, offers and activity reports.
  • Handing over capital equipment orders to Project Management.
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products and / or services
  • Maintaining and improving sales, market and competitor knowledge.
  • Ensuring that all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes were communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Controlling expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Resolving customer complaints regarding capital equipment sales.
  • Submitting weekly and monthly activity reports to the Department Manager.
  • Accurately updating the prospect list on a weekly basis.
  • Facilitating test work and liaising with Engineering Department on client requirements and test results.
