To provide a comprehensive range of services to registered CPUT students on the District Six campus, to assist them in making important life transitions, and to assist CPUT staff in an advisory, advocacy and research capacity.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements : Masters Degree in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
Registration with the Health Professions Council of SA. as psychologist.
Minimum of one year work experience as a registered psychologist.
Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds at an institution of higher learning and preferably at a Student Counselling Centre.
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Counselling : Therapy and counseling for registered CPUT students with personal, academic, career and social related problems
Counselling : Career assessment and -counselling to registered CPUT students and prospective students
Consulting : Advocacy and learner support
Training and Development : e.g. facilitation of skills development workshops to students
Internal / External liaison
Project management / -coordination
Record keeping and administration
Technical and professional knowledge
Customer / client focus
Managing Work (incl. time management)
