A well-known and established International company specialising in the manufacturing of food flavours requires the above to identify, prioritise, develop and implement complex cross-
functional inventory control continuous improvement (CI) projects that include forward-thinking on project introduction, development and implementation.
Minimum requirements for the role :
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Finance or related is preferred but not essential.
Previous working experience in inventory control or related is essential.
Previous experience having worked in the financial or business information industry is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience working on any ERP (SAP or Syspro or related) is essential.
Must be computer literate with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Must be highly analytical.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Collecting data using a computerised system to track various aspects of inventory.
Calculating products and parts orders to ensure that the proper amount of inventory is distributed at the right time.
Tracking defective pieces of inventory, rates of return, rates of purchase, and rates of accuracy, in order to maintain and improve quality control.
Responding to sales inquiries, filing reports, and providing creative solutions to discrepancies.
Analysing root causes to manage slow-moving and obsolete material, whilst developing strategies to eliminate the cause of scrap.
Building strategies and implementing solutions to improve accuracy, operating efficiency and financial performance associated with inventory management.
Developing and executing supply chain initiatives to drive slow-moving and obsolete material as well as scrap improvements.
Analysing aged materials and determining appropriate action for resolution.
Managing the asset disposal process and the destruction process of high-value materials.
Monitoring and dispositioning the shelf life of finished goods for liability avoidance purposes.
Developing and conducting presentations to interpret data analysis and inventory controls recommendations to multiple levels of the organisation, including senior leadership.
