  • Our client is currently seeking the services of an Outbound Logistics / Warehouse Controller

  • on a permanent basis;
  • PURPOSE : ;
  • To drive competitive advantage initiatives by fully supporting the focus on cost efficiency, service excellence, quality management and compliance.;
  • OVERVIEW : ;
  • Implement strategy to ensure efficient flow of Operational processes relating to outbound logistics;
  • Oversee Ethical and Patent Warehouse process and procedures;
  • Oversee Dispatch and Transport processes and procedures;
  • Manage outbound supply chain - Assembling, Invoicing, Packaging, Dispatch and Transport functions;
  • Assembling and Warehouse areas : ;
  • Explore opportunities to increase productivity in workflow and efficiencies between Warehouse, Dispatch and Transport departments;
  • Manage allocation of storage space and accurate stock rotation on primary warehouse locations;
  • Ensure efficiency of Assembling (picking) procedures;
  • Manage turnaround time on orders picked according to cut-off times;
  • Manage Risk : Incorrect picks, damages, short dated stock within ethical and patent warehouse departments;
  • Dispatch : ;
  • Ensure that the daily workload and rounds are defined, planned and communicated so that logistics and workflow is streamlined;
  • Investigate and report on all delivery related CRM queries, follow-up and take corrective action;
  • Oversee and liaise with Customer service clerk concerning shortages, queries and complaints from customers;
  • Deal with customer complaints efficiently and follow up of nature of complaint re shortages, tampered or damaged goods;
  • Ensure efficient turnaround time of reusable packaging material;
  • Manage Open cycles for returnable packaging material, ensure collection and reconcile daily;
  • Manage Risk; implement SOP invoicing, scan to cage, trip sheet, security sheet and record keeping;
  • Transport : ;
  • Oversee implementation of National Fleet Policy;
  • Consolidate departmental reporting and investigate discrepancies;
  • Route optimisation and consolidation strategies continuously explored;
  • Act as proxy for branch fleet;
  • Manage Risk : Fleet maintenance, vehicle inspections and controlled budgetary expenditure;
  • Compliance;
  • Maintain general compliance to relevant HSE and OHSAct;
  • Ensure compliance MCC : General storage conditions according to Good Wholesale and Pharmacy Practice;
  • Member of Health and Safety Committee; take active part in training and ensure implementation of all HSE related policies;
  • Leadership : ;
  • Cost saving initiatives;
  • Maintain budget input and control expenditure;
  • Required to participate and be on duty on rotation on Saturdays;
  • Responsible for taking corrective action when necessary in accordance with Company policy and procedures;
  • Responsible for conducting Performance appraisal with subordinates on an annual basis;
  • Responsible for the training and development of staff ;
  • Responsible for allocating work and monitoring absenteeism;
  • Complete any Human Resources related documentation and submit for record keeping;
  • Responsible for holding operational meetings as and when required;
  • Responsible for planning and managing leave, timesheets and hours in department;
  • Plan and manage utilization of temporary staff employment;
  • QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE : ;
  • CRITERIA;
  • A Relevant Tertiary qualification (i.e. Logistics Management / Inventory and Management);
  • 3-5 years Warehouse Logistics and Supervisory experience within the Pharmaceutical environment;
  • Strong leadership within the environment;
  • Computer literate - MS office essential Oracle an advantage;
